Things To Do In Ottawa This Weekend - PD Day April 27 - 29

Rumour has it that Friday is a PD Day for some kiddos, so there is a little more Friday Fun than usual!  Here's a collection of unique things happening in Ottawa this weekend.  Be sure to check out the Going Out Page for a full listing of Ottawa attractions!

Young at Art Juried Exhibit - Ottawa visual artists between the ages of 12 and 19 years to reach out to their communities through the experience of a citywide, juried art exhibition.

Britannia Community Free Bike Tune Up Get your bike in gear for the summer Sunday, April 29 - 1 to 4 p.m. Britannia Rd. & Howe St.

Ottawa Grassroots Festival is free during the afternoon!  They have an open stage for children, improv theater, story telling, singers, drummers, dance workshops & performers,  Looks like lots of fun!

Tulips have started blooming - early bulbs are in bloom, and the mid-season tulips are in bud.  Visit the Commissioners Park to catch a glimpse, or maybe stop to smell the tulips!

The Branch Texas Grill is celebrating Willie Nelson's Birthday with a Tribute, 3-6pm Sunday, no cover.

The Spring flowers have bloomed in Gatineau Park.  Why not take a hike (or just a walk) and see these beauties up close.

The Ottawa Public Library has all kinds of fun things happening Friday & Saturday - story time, anime groups, Wii game challenges, Antique Evaluation Clinic, homework help, crafts, etc... And its all free to participate!

The 4th Annual Ottawa Veg Fest is this Sunday - free admission, food sampling, exhibitors, guest speakers and  food demos!

Cineplex Family Favourites this weekend is Madagascar!  $2.50/pp

Ottawa Family Cinema is playing Wrath of the Titans on Friday in 3D and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D on Saturday.  Admission ranges from $5 - $7

4Cats PD Day Activities - "My Pet" Portrait in Modeling Paste & Paint - Ages 10 - 15 - $25/pp

Science & Tech Museum has a few different things happening - Saturday is Celebrate Astronomy Day with crafts, inflatable planetarium, and lots to see.  They are also hosting a Free International Astronomy Day Star Party.  Energy: The Power to Choose Exhibit is being featured this weekend as well.

The Postal Museum within the Museum of Civilization has an interesting exhibit featuring the Celebration of the Queen's 60 Year Reign through Postage Stamps.

The Ottawa Public Library is offering a Saturday Babysitting Course at the Ruth E Dickinson Branch (100 Malvren) - Ages 10+ $50 for test, certificate and information package payable morning of class.

The North Grenville Concert Choir is presenting Guys & Dolls this weekend!  Always a fun show!
